For too long, organ and tissue
donation has been misunderstood because of the myths surrounding donation. One donor has the potential to save or enhance
the lives of 50 to 60 people.
My life has been touched twice by donation. My wife Karen died
in 1995. Through donation she was able to help more than 50 people. With her eyes she was able to give the gift of sight.
Her heart valves helped someone live. Her skin helped burn patients, her bones helped cancer patients, while her tendons and
ligaments helped sport injuries.
In 2002 I was diagnosed with fatty liver (NASH), which eventually
progressed into End Stage Liver Disease (ESLD). In 2009, I received a liver transplant, and am now able to make a positive
difference every day.
LifeLink of Georgia provides facts about organ and tissue donation, and
encourages people to register to be a life-saving organ and tissue donor. You can help save lives by designating your
decision on the Georgia donor registry at www.donatelifegeorgia.org, or when obtaining or renewing your driver license. Donation can, and does save lives.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
I AM OLD
Aging and death are inevitable; how we feel about
aging and death is not. Our lives and our state of mind are matters of choice; matters of common sense. Old age should be
a celebration of life; and author Ed Gagnon reveals that it can be, if we do the things that make our lives meaningful.
Aging is a law of physics that affects all things and all beings. It always ends in death. The inevitability of this
law is not appreciated in youth, but it becomes real as we reach old age. With this realization of age and impending death
come feelings of regret, sorrow, fear, and anger. The feelings are exacerbated as we also realize how little power we have
to affect this natural process. Our remaining years become filled with feelings of self-dissatisfaction. It doesnt have to
be this way. We can choose our feelings by choosing to do things that bring about our freedom of choice. I Am Old will teach
you how to discover the meaning of life by living a life that has meaning.

05/26/10 Dear editor, Here is an article that we know will be of interest to the
readers of Roswell Weekly. It covers how people are finding creative ways
to give back to the community, despite the depressed economy. People and local
businesses donated money and their services to the makeover of a local senior care home in Lilburn, GA. It was a unique
and creative charitable initiative that will touch the hearts of many! Enjoy reading! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us at 404-889-2508. Sincerely,

We would love to have you come to The Cooler (Alpharetta) and cover
this story, view a practice and follow us to Reno. This is truly an amazing club record - a first in the Southern Region and
nationally in USA Volleyball.
These athletes are the elite in the nation and they are from all over
the Metro Atlanta Area, some driving up to 2 hours each way to come train and be a part of these championship teams.
We have signed over
23 seniors this season alone to play in college and most of them got their chance to be seen at USAV Junior Nationals by recruiters
from all over the country. This event is not one to be missed. You need to see these players in action at the
gym to believe the talent, level of coaching and quality of character in the athletes themselves.
We just got the final
word today on our 14th team accepting the final bid for our club. As I mentioned, these girls are from many areas including
the one your publication covers. I have included pictures of the 4 Open team with the athletes names/positions/schools
for your convenience to print.I look forward to hearing from you. My contact information is located on the top of the release
as well as below.

04/23/2010 Hello, I
know your primary target audience is made up of the Roswell community, but any consideration in spreading the word about
America’s Most Wanted All-Star finalist Police Sergeant Lee Gragg would be greatly appreciated. He may be a Palmetto
officer and a Paulding county resident, but he is the only one out of our eight finalists from Georgia so it’d
be great to generate state-wide support. We received over 1100 nominations across the country and profiled a couple hundred
first responders, and so his chances of reaching this point were very slim, but his story of recovery has piqued people’s
curiosity. People in Georgia have shown a keen interest in our contest as a dozen of the couple hundred nominees that were
profiled are from the state, and yet in the past five years we’ve run this contest, no winner has come from Georgia.
To find out more, here is a link to the contest site: www.amw.com/allstar. I’ve attached a press release as well as a compressed photo. If you have any questions,
please feel free to reach me at 240-482-1157. Thank you for taking the time to look over this media

The milestone comes in a year that the company has continued last year's commitment

Dear Supporter,
I
want to thank you again for your support in my run for Georgia Public Service Commission, District 1. Your
contribution helped me to set a Libertarian Party national vote total record. The John Monds campaign received
over one million votes during the November 2008 general election. This is more votes than any Libertarian
candidate had ever achieved. Although we did not win the race, it is an election milestone that we both
can be proud of.
This letter today is written not to dwell on the past but to speak of the future.
I have decided to seek the Libertarian Party of Georgia’s nomination for Governor in 2010. My
campaign team is being assembled and we’ve begun to lay the groundwork.
I
made the decision to run for Governor of Georgia after much deliberation with my family, close friends and previous campaign
staff. We wholeheartedly believe that our message of less government, local community control of education,
and more individual freedom is what the citizens of Georgia want and need. This is the message we need
your help to broadcast throughout the state for the next eighteen months.
To get my campaign
up and running we need to raise $30,000 by Memorial Day on May 25, 2009. These funds will
help pay for the campaign’s most immediate needs such as staff expenses, travel cost, website upgrade, logistics, and
campaign materials.
My commitment to you is that I will do all I can to win this race
-- not just make a statement. My campaign has already been mentioned in newspapers throughout the state,
and I have already done radio interviews in three of the thirty largest cities in Georgia. Plus, Fox News
channel 5 in the Atlanta metro area has aired a television interview during their 6pm newscast. Your dedicated
support along with a donation will help us continue building a campaign with a solid foundation that will support a successful
bid for the state’s top job and full party status for the Libertarian Party of Georgia.
For your convenience a reply card and return envelope have been included. I ask that you send what
you can now, and consider additional donations in the future. You may also donate at my website votemonds.com.
Thank you in advance for your generous contribution and support
of my run for Governor of Georgia. Together we can roll back government meddling and increase the personal
liberty of all Georgians.
Sincerely,
John Monds
P.S.
I relish the opportunity to speak out
in support of the freedoms and principles on which this country was founded. Join me now and pay the cost,
for none of us knows how long we may have to do so!

While earning
my degree in Linguistics, I developed a particular interest in the etymology of words and the history of idioms in the English
language. There is a wealth of fascinating stories about the origin of words in our language and I believe your readers of
all ages would enjoy discovering them each weekwritten in an easily accessible and entertaining mannerand that such a feature
would be a great addition to the Roswell Weekly, in a column called 'Words to the Wise.'
In writing 'Words to the

My aim with 'Words to the Wise' is to appeal to the interest of your readers regarding words which are familiar to them and
to do it in a way that is both informative and fun to read. In fact, the average native English speaker uses around 20,000
words and still knows many more, though as innate and unchanging as they may seem, these words are incredibly dynamic with
fascinating histories and stories just waiting to be told.
Here are two examples of 'Words to the Wise' that I

WORDS TO THE
WISE
That which we call a rose
Throughout history and
in cultures around the world, mankind has held a deep connection with flowers. From the smallest blossoms emerging from the
melting snow, marking the end of winter, to elaborate bouquets given as a gesture of love, flowers are unmatched in their
ability to please the senses and delight the soul. Flowering plants, unlike
their fruit and vegetable bearing counterparts, have been infused with symbolism that transcends their colorful bloom. A poetic
regard for flowers is evident even in Neanderthal culture with the discovery of burial sites containing Hollyhock flowersan
indication that they too considered it as holy as its name continues to suggests today.
It is not surprising then, that the names by which we refer to flowers reflect a loftier esteem than that given
to, say, broccoli, which derives its rather unappetizing moniker from the Italian brocco, meaning simply a shoot or stalkin
line with opinion held by countless picky eaters. Indeed, the names given to flowers denote their benefit to the spirit, richly
steeped in culture and tradition. Like many words in our language, flowers
names hold clues about their history and relationship with us. The daisy, for example, known for its small yellow blossoms,
is quiet common throughout the world. Daisies are unique in that they close their golden petals during the night and keep
them shut, as if in sleep, until the morning. This peculiar characteristic so earned this little flower the name days eye
from speakers of Old English, which was eventually compounded into the form we use today.
Dandelions also derive their name from their characteristically numerous thick and slender yellow petals.
It is not so difficult for an imaginative observer to equate the Dandelions coarse petals to rows of teeth on some well-fanged
beast, a comparison which explains its French origin dent de lion, or in English teeth of a lion.
Some flowers, on the other hand, were named, not from their appearance alone, but for their association
with mythology. The Iris, a flower which appears in a wide variety of colors, shares its name with the Greek goddess who unified
heaven and earth, personified by, aptly enough, the rainbow. The Narcissus flower, too, is said to have sprouted upon the
death of its namesake, though there is no evidence that the flower is as self-absorbed. The Virgin Mary also has left a mark
on floral taxonomy with the Marigold, or Marys Gold, which, according to Flemish tradition, sprouted from her tears.
Still, other flowers names offer some insight into how they had some usefulness in the past.
The sweet, aromatic Lavender was used to add a pleasant scent to recently washed clothes and to perfume bathwateras evidenced
by its association with the Latin lavare, meaning to wash. Calluna, the flowering shrub also known as Heather, seems to have
been appreciated not so much for its beauty as its handiness as a broomits name originating from the Greek word for to sweep. The Pansy blossom, which in late summer begins to droop, is perhaps the most
thoughtful of flowers, its name derived from the French pensée, or thoughtthe source for the English word pensive.
Carnations are also appreciated for their human qualities, their often soft pink petals likened to the hue of skin, sharing
its meaning closely with the word incarnation, to be made flesh, (though some early writings refer to this flower as coronation,
which some scholars believe is an allusion to its use as a garland in Greek tradition).
Flowers are so unique in their seemingly universal appeal that not only do they bear names that reflect their
colorful history, but nearly every culture names their children after them. From Ambuj (Indian for lotus) to Zara (Arabic
for a blossom), floral names are timeless in their popularity. While millions of people around the world share their names
with flowers, the opposite is also true. The Zinnia and Dahlia flowers, for example, can thank the 18th-century botanists
Johann Zinn and Anders Dahl, respectively, for their names. Ultimately,
the names assigned to flowers are less of a reflection on the flowers themselves, and more on the long-standing relationship
of love and esteem we have for them. So, while if a flower were in fact known by a different name it would indeed smell as
sweet, the stories behind their names would remain human storiesour contribution to one of natures most cherished creations.
WORDS TO THE WISE
Buckets, Benches, and Bartenders
Of all the challenges that America has faced, few have produced such a litany of confusing words and phrases as this
current economic crisis. With terms like negative amortization, Hedge Funds, credit default swap, and asset-backed commercial
paper dominating the headlines, it is no wonder why people are so frustrated reading the news each day.
But despite all the cumbersome economic terms that have been recently introduced into public
discourse, some of the more common words we use when talking about this crisis have fascinating and unexpected stories to
tell. Since nearly all the words we use today to talk about finance are
rooted in a much earlier time, before stock-markets and the global economy, their etymology reflect a refreshingly humble
origin. The word economy itself, for example, is from the post-classical Latin oeconomus, which refers simply to the management
of a house or monasterywhich means that the first economic crisis probably occurred when someone forgot where they put their
wallet. Because of the increased prosperity brought about during the Italian
Renaissance, the early conceptions of a banking system were formed. While nowadays banks are thought to be highly secure places
with thick metal vaults and security cameras, this sense of fortification is certainly not evident in the early use of the
word. In fact, bank is derived from the Italian banco, which refers to a bench or long table, (not unlike one that would be
used at a banquet, interestingly enough,) upon which transactions took place. A common site for these early banks was alongside
other merchants and traders, usually in the local marketplacea metaphor that survives today in terms like the stock-market. As time went on and personal finances became intermingled into a more complex
system, savvy and enterprising businesspeople saw a potential in making money by giving money, that is to say, by investing.
While todays use of this word is almost exclusively within an economic context, surprisingly its origins have more association
with the contents of your closet. The Latin investio means to clothe or dress, as in literally putting on a jacket. However,
because of the symbolism of some garments, (e.g., a kings cape or a popes cassock,) the term came to mean to endow or furnish
with power. From there its only a small leap to the modern use of the word. In
the past, one of the most lucrative business ventures to invest in was mercantile shipping and overseas imports; such shipping
companies required immense capital for the purchase and maintenance of their fleets. Despite great potential for wealth, sea
travel was wrought with risk and the loss of a single vessel full of goods could spell the end of a company. Some of the more
common expressions for struggling businesses reflect this concern even today, like in describing a doomed business as a sinking
ship, or going under. However, when a boat began to take on water at sea, often the only thing that could be done to keep
it from sinking was to use a bucket, or bail, to scoop out the waterknown as bailing out. Bailout as we use it today works
in very much the same way, except the water has been replaced with money, and perhaps unfortunately, no one is getting sopping
wet as a result. It is not surprising that during these challenging times
a person might feel more inclined to spend time with their bartender than their broker, which too, when considering etymology,
is not without a bit of irony. The word broker comes from the Old French verb brochier, to broach or to tap, just as one might
tap a keg. It is in this sense that a brocheor was very much like a bartender, buying a cask of wine from a winemaker and
dispensing it to others at a profitby extension, this term came to refer to anyone who acted as a middleman, buying something
to sell it over again. So, despite all of technical terms that have come
to dominate the headlines recently when talking about finance, taking a closer look at those words that are more familiar
sheds light on the humble roots of what has become a global economic system.

My name is Lindsay. I’m a journalism student at the University of Alabama. I'm working on

based on the 2000 census estimates, Latinos make up about almost 11% of the population in Roswell, GA. Are you available

community? If you are, would it be easier to get in touch by phone or through email?
I look forward

Good afternoon!
I thought I might send you this release
about a diabetes study for consideration in your publication. It is a study by the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research
that found hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) episodes that require a visit to the hospital are associated with an increased risk
of dementia in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes.
Why the study
is newsworthy:
- This is the first study to look at hypoglycemia and
dementia in older patients with type 2 diabetes; previous studies have looked at how low blood sugar affects cognitive function
in children with type 1 diabetes
- The study looked at 16,667 elderly patients
with type 2 diabetes over three decades and found that patients who had a hypoglycemic episode from midlife to late life had
a 45 percent increased risk of being diagnosed with dementia. Two hypoglycemic episodes raised the risk to 115 percent, and
three or more episodes had a 160 percent increased risk of dementia
- Though
not a randomized clinical trial, the study provides additional information for the debate about how tightly blood sugar should
be controlled in patients with type 2 diabetes, particularly in elderly patients
Please
let me know if you'd like to speak with a physician or a diabetes patient for this story.
Thanks, Billy

Dear Editor: March is National Social Work Month. Social Workers across this great nation provide
so many valuable services to people of all ages, specifically for children and for the vast aging population. Our social workers at Healthfield Hospice in Marietta work diligently to bring multiple services to our patients
and families. They provide emotional support, counseling and utilize community resources among many other invaluable services.
They constantly go the extra mile to ensure that our patients live the highest quality of life. Our Branch Director states
“As social workers, Monique Spaulding and Ange Williams are invaluable members of our team and provide tremendous support
to our patients and families.” We at Healthfield Hospice salute all social workers and admire

GA 30040 ph) 770-403-0123 email glenn@cgccs.com January 30, 2009 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PARTY ART BAKERY SOLD! CUSTOMERS IN UPROAR! NEW OWNER SAYS DONT PANIC - THE SECRET
CAKE RECIPE IS SAFE! Cumming, GA For over 17 years Party Art Bakery, long known for its delicious and creative cakes, unique
baked goods and the largest selection of home baking supplies, it is also one of the most established bakeries in northern
Georgia. Frank Fernando, a dynamic and creative entrepreneur transplanted to Alpharetta, Georgia from London, England, is
pleased to announce that he has purchased Party Art Bakery and has undertaken the monumental task of creating what could
be the first location of a unique chain of themed bakery and desert cafés Lets face it, most people love cake, says
Frank. Even in an economic downturn like the one we are experiencing now, people still love their baked goodies and sweets,
he continued in his pleasing English accent. I intend to take this business to a new level. Franks past experience in
business and his finely tuned business acumen tells him that this is a business that can thrive even in a downturn; Frank
had spent hundreds of hours researching several food related industries and had no trouble deciding that this was the business
for him. Although Frank came to this country with limited knowledge of the baking industry he has brought with him over 35
years of entrepreneurial experience and success. Party Art Bakery will be renamed CREATIONS PATISSERIE AND DESSERT CAFE.
Mr. Fernando wants to assure all past, present, and new customers that CREATIONS will maintain the same secret and original
baking formulas that made Party Art Bakery so well known throughout Georgia for its wonderful and great tasting selection
of custom, birthday, wedding and celebratory cakes. In the not too distant future, Mr. Fernando and his team will morph the
retail store into a dessert café where you can have a slice of freshly baked delicious cake or pastry with a cup of
hot Java, hot tea, gelato and smoothies, together with other popular beverage concoctions in a relaxing atmosphere, and
of course free WI-FI internet access will also be available. Frank also intends to have bake and decorate your own cake
parties for children as well as kids etiquette lessons, and a revamped website that will showcase CREATIONS full line of
home baking products. . As part of its grand opening celebration CREATIONS will be offering FREE COFFEE from now until further
notice. In addition, CREATIONS will offer a 10% discount on all custom cakes until the end of February to all customers who
order a cake and mention Franks name. But, look out! You might get a special surprise with your order, in addition to
a bountiful CHEERS MATE! from Frank. Frank continues We are now getting ready for what is known as the Valentines Day Crush.
We are in a last minute dash preparing for Valentines Day. We plan to have everything from double dipped chocolate strawberries,
gift baskets, heart shaped cakes, caramel and chocolate covered apples, Belgium and Swiss chocolates and much, much more.
It is recommended that you place your orders early to avoid any disappointment. So support your local bakery and taste the
difference at CREATIONS where you can take your cake or eat it here too CREATIONS are located at 101 Meadow Drive (just past
